What does an eye examination include?
A comprehensive eye examination evaluates visual function as well as the health of the eye. Tests are selected according to age, symptoms and medical history.
Common parts of the examination
Testing may include visual acuity, refraction, examination of the cornea and lens, eye-pressure measurement and assessment of the retina and optic nerve.
Additional investigations
Pupil dilation, OCT imaging, visual-field testing or other investigations may be recommended when clinically indicated.
