Tests before LASIK
Preoperative testing can include prescription stability, corneal thickness and shape, corneal topography or tomography, tear-film assessment and a complete eye examination.
Recovery
Temporary dryness, fluctuating vision, glare or halos can occur while the eye heals. Follow-up visits and prescribed eye drops are important during recovery.
Possible complications
Potential risks include residual refractive error, dry eye, inflammation, infection and flap-related issues in LASIK. No refractive procedure can guarantee complete freedom from glasses for every task or throughout life.
